Misfortune is not enough
Just a week after Spain, Macau was my new challenge and the comeback to Kosmic Racing Department.
I was also the only Kosmic official driver on the line, where Tonykart brought all of his drivers, included the World Champion Ardigò and the Vice-World Champion Catt.
I was pretty confident and from the first practices I was on the top 3 of timings, I learn the new track and worked a bit on setup.
The feeling was pretty good and in the qualifing session I made a good 46”360, only 1 ten far from Ardigo's best time, wich granted me 3rd place.
In the 1st heat I reached the third position, after a tough battle that made me lose time and in the second one I fought hard for the victory with the English driver of Tony Kart, Catt.
In the prefinal, I started from the 3rd position but already in the 3rd lap I was leading.
I authoritatively led the race until a hundred meters from the finishing line, when a banal damage forced me to stop.
During the final, I exploited the set-up balance, avoiding to force the tyres, and from the start position (14th) I started to gain positions really fast, as in the 3rd lap I was already 6th.
The squared flag stopped my race when I was catching Catt for the podium, while he was in troubles with tyres, ruined by his forcing during the whole race.
The result could be even better, this is why I think with sorrow about it. Concerning my performances, I am very satisfied, everybody could see how I was competitive, starting from the free practices I always centred top lap times. The Team worked very well, I hope that next season we will go on working together.
