WSK 3° Round - Lonato (IT)

On Sunday the third race of the WSK Championship was unlucky for the Kosmic Kart Racing. The race didn’t come up to expectations. Both drivers couldn’t reach a great result in the qualifying so in the heats they were forced to recover positions.
In spite of this the material worked well and both KF1 drivers, Bollingtoft and Bressan, could start from good positions in final 1.
On this Sunday, characterized by numerous contacts in the KF1 Category, our Niko Bollingtoft and Alessandro Bressan were also involved in some accidents and contacts.
Unfortunately Alessandro was involved in a serious accident due to a contact with the Bitish Parrot, and the doctors had to intervene. Luckily Alessandro had only a great fright and some contusions.
However at the end of the race Bollingtoft gained some precious points arriving fifth and recovering positions in the general rating. Our team is still in the first positions of the Eurocup rating, reserved to KF1 teams, actually we are third, so we can aim at the podium in this second half of the Championsip.
In the other categories, KF2 and KF3, our young drivers worked hard with the team, gaining more experience and doing several tests and kilometres.
Everyone worked in an excellent way, showing great improvements already in this phase of the season.
Mariembourg is a very important test for them, being just before the qualifying for the European final.

Olivier Marechall Kosmic Kart Racing Departement Team Manager
“We are not really satisfied with the race in Lonato, however we are not worried because now there are three important events: Suzuka (World Cup), Mariembourg (WSK) and the second race of the European Championship. These are all important races and we have a good technical material and two motivated drivers. From outside it is not possible to completely understand the technical potential of the team, it is necessary to be patient…”

Alessandro Bressan - Kosmic Kart Racing Departement driver, KF1
“I have to forget this day, especially my accident. After the “parc fermè”, I overtook Parrot. We were side by side in the other bend on the right, then we had a contact.
He went outwards and touched the front of my kart, making my kart completely uncontrollable. So I crashed into the protective barrier, my stomach hit against the wheel and…fortunately everything went well…now I’m already thinking about the next race in Japan, I don’t have any problem, I’m really looking forward to coming back on the track.”
